Douglas Gammage
OCADU (Bachelor of Design)
Toronto, Ontario
Douglas has spent the last several years immersed in printmaking and fine art after a career working in retail branding, package design and communications.
His recent studies have included courses in printmaking at Central Technical School (TDSB), In-Print Collective, Articulations, and Open Studio, as well as courses in painting, drawing, and watercolour woodcut at Toronto School of Art.
Douglas' printmaking covers a variety of techniques, including etching, intaglio, aquatint, drypoint, gravure, lithography, serigraphy, and mixed-media combinations.
Inspired by observations of everyday life from the serene and organic to the urban and post-industrial, all of Douglas' work is derived from his original photography and sketches reinterpreted as hand-crafted fine art prints and paintings.
